Bob - The Build (WARNING-NOT dial-up friendly)
Here's what I have of Bob's build.
The work was done at Old Dog, the flames were airbrushed by Molly Hoffman.
As some have guessed, the bumpers and hood are from Teazer. (more on that in a later thread) The hood was a custom job; a cross between their PT hood and a HHR hod.
(Sorry about the pics, some are grainy. I'm guessing they kept forgetting to use the flash.)

Holy Moly! Tell me more - did you start with a red car, was it intact or did you buy it used or was this your baby you pulled apart?? LOVE your pin-wheels!! In the last photo, what is the white stuff that looks like wax on the hatch and above the left-side tail lights? Boy, I'm full of questions, like .... what flames??
Never mind - sorry, you were posting those when I posted. Wow, great flames, are those called LIVE FLAMES mixed with WATER FLAMES??? Ungodly gorgeous!!!

The car is actually still the same color, Victory Red (2006 Spring Edition). I really liked the color, just felt it needed a little more.
After tearing it apart, they fixed all the little dings and dents. Then it was repainted Victory Red. Next was eight coats of House of Kolors metallics flakes. To get an even surface took eight coats of clear with sanding between each coat.
Then the airbrush artist did her work, Molly did a GREAT job!!
I am really happy with this. Because of issues with the items I got from Teazer, this project was double what it should have been. I'll take the final amount to my grave!
The paint just sparkles in the sun. I wish I could catch that in a pic, but it just has to be seen!!
There are some minor stuff that has to be worked out but that's to be expected with a job like this. My jaw hurts from smiling so much!!
My thinking on the flames was everyone seems to be doing ghost these day and I wanted something different. So I was trying for a nice mix of old school/modern. It turned out exactly like I hoped.
I can't wait to have a nice day, detail it some, put on the other mods that have been waiting for months (starting that tomorrow!) and taking some nice pics! It is so nice driving it again! YEAH!!! I CAN PARK THE TOYOTA!!!
Well, I guess I'm the only one who's still up tonight, so I don't have to get in line to tell you how gorgeous it is!!!
Honestly, I'm just amazed at the dynamic look of those flames!!
And the Teazer front and back are so sleek and clean!! I wonder if GM is watching and working on a better look for the front ends on the next body style of the HHR of future years.
Listen, the fact that you will smile every time you look at that car makes the price worth it. a BIG smile.
Sorry, I think I missed it if you said... what's your car's name??

My son named him after Bob the Tomato; he was/is leanring his colors. First anything red was Bob, then anything red became "Daddy's car". When we asked him what color was car was though, he go back to Bob.
I think it turned out very nice Mike. I'm sure the pictures don't do it justice.
Sure looks like it's going to really sparkle in the sunlight with all the metallic. Lookinig forward to seeing more pics and hearing the details you are willing to share.
