Exactly what I had done to mine. Now the bowties are white with a black cut out over lay. I dig it!

Can you buy the SS running board inserts, or do those have to be homemade?

Currently I have both bowties painted pink and have black overlays.
I got an extra grill that is a bit banged up, but am looking to have it also painted similar to Don's.

For that one, Black for every other runner, a black bow tie and will put back on the Chevrolet script I took off of my current grill (it would have been too much with the pink and black bowtie!)

pix are old grill with script, and current grill, pink and black:

Todd(UMA) from the SoCal HHR Crew did mine. You should PM him about it. I saw a new Krylon paint called generations that is formulated to stick to everything. Has a trigger spray and looks very promising. Mask it off and go for it.

Well Body Shop basically told me it would cost more then its worth. Dealer told me that you can buy the Bowties already painted from GM. I've never seen or heard this but whatever. I emailed Todd so im waiting for a reply. Now im not sure im going to do anything. I'm not real comfortable with messing with it.

I saw a link (on this site I believe) that offered vynil coloured overlays for the bowties (and SS symbols). Prices were very reasonable. If I bump into it again I'll post up.

Right not i have Vinyl overlays on the Bowtie's however it doesn't cover all of the Gold. Right now i have Black but i am changing them to match the color of the car which is RED. I guess the vinyl is going to have to do.
