That looks sharp. Should have ordered one from SoCal when I ordered the sway bar. Guess I'll have to hit eBay now.

OK, what's the secret to getting the rear brake light centre trim piece off?

I tried to take mine off and I started to see white where the plastic was being stressed.

With the lift gate up, do you pull outwards or downwards to get the trim off?

I pulled outwards, and it seemed like the whole lamp assembly wanted to come out as well.

Start at one side and pull straight out. I also thought it was going to break. Not sure what's next. I have thought of tinting the tails. I recently debadged the LT and HHR emblems.

Got it. What a nasty sound it makes when it comes out

Got it installed, but it wasn't a quick install. The overlay I got was not cut square, so I had to do some trimming to square it up. Once that was done, it went in fine.

There is a slight bleeding of the brake light on the edges (about 1 mm on each side) so while not a perfect install, it's in.

I'm going to have to fix it tomorrow and then I'll get a pic of it.

I was looking at it a couple of hours afterwards and a huge air bubble has formed in the middle of it.
It does not affect the illumination of "HHR" but I know it's there. I also realized that I forgot to use a hair dryer/heat gun on it before reassembling it

Guess I was in too much of a hurry to go and road test the sway bar that I also put on this afternoon.
