Brighter Interior

Has anyone found a way to get more lighting in the interior, whether it's leds inside or any other ideas. The map lights don't give much light and the dome light is too far in the back!

This thread turned the rear dome light around. I want to do this, but haven't had the time yet.

Still not enough light when you do this in dark interiors. 09s have better lighting though.

The 09s add a second set of dome lights near the front seats.

Hmm. I wonder how hard it would be to add those...

An easier solution is to buy a Sylvania Dot-it light and stick it to the headliner between the front seats. I did this shortly after I bought my HHR. I bought my HHR in Sept 2005 and it has been in place ever since. It hasn't fallen off, until I got in an accident where my HHR was hit in the drivers side door. The tape did not leave a mark on the headliner which is nice.

My fiance and myself added mini clip-on tap lights from Sylvania to each visor.

They run on 2 button batteries included and and a switch to turn on and off.

Each one has 2 bright white LEDs which illuminate the entire front seat area. We love them and have been working GREAT for over a year now. You can buy them in red or white lights.

They clip to the visor tight enough they will not fall off but easily removable to switch from car to car to to clip to the hood liner for emergency lighting under the hood..

I haven't seen an 09 with a sunroof but the ones without a sunroof have 3 dome lamps. One for front seat, back seat and one in the cargo area. The front seat and back seat assemblies have push buttons for map lighting too.
