Can I mount 2008 window switch unit to my 2009

I have a 2009. The window controls were moved to the armrest, and now there is nothing on the lower center console unit. I wanted to install the plastic mount from a 2006-08 unit that housed the window controls to my 2009. I thought it would be a great place to add switches or LED lights for various other items to my 2009.

Question: Will this mod work? Is there enough space? And finally, what is the part number I need to look for? I have inserted a photo of my console.

Yeah it should work just fine just pop out that piece and reinstall the other, as for the part # not sure.

That is one thing I dislike about mine. The center piece storage container is just ugly!

Thanks for the fast responses. I guess I'll try the wreck route and see if I can get one.

The switch bezel for the 2006-2008 models lists at $41.67. GM Parts Direct has them for $24.70 (plus shipping).

The part # is 15883623

Also you will need the rubber liner that goes into the storage bin under the switches. It lists for $3.60.

Reading the post again, I see what you mean.
But to use the GM switch panel, I think you would need to use the same switches too to make a good fit for the holes.
Perhaps the best thing would be to just add a flat panel over the bin and make your own holes according to what you want to put in there.
