Can I mount 2008 window switch unit to my 2009
I have a 2009. The window controls were moved to the armrest, and now there is nothing on the lower center console unit. I wanted to install the plastic mount from a 2006-08 unit that housed the window controls to my 2009. I thought it would be a great place to add switches or LED lights for various other items to my 2009.
Question: Will this mod work? Is there enough space? And finally, what is the part number I need to look for? I have inserted a photo of my console. https://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/fil...HHRConsole.jpg |
Yeah it should work just fine just pop out that piece and reinstall the other, as for the part # not sure.

i would try to find a wrecked hhr may be cheaper.

That is one thing I dislike about mine. The center piece storage container is just ugly!

Thanks for the fast responses. I guess I'll try the wreck route and see if I can get one.

LOL, there must be someone on here wanting to do a swap. I have read sooo many posts about wanting window controls on the doors.

you could do the swap but what about shen your passenger wants to put their window down. also i dont think he is trying to move them just wants to use the window button plate for something else if i read right.

The switch bezel for the 2006-2008 models lists at $41.67. GM Parts Direct has them for $24.70 (plus shipping).
The part # is 15883623 Steve |
Also you will need the rubber liner that goes into the storage bin under the switches. It lists for $3.60.

But to use the GM switch panel, I think you would need to use the same switches too to make a good fit for the holes. Perhaps the best thing would be to just add a flat panel over the bin and make your own holes according to what you want to put in there. |
