Clear Front End Protection (aka clear bra)
 

Has anyone used this style or similar product on any of their vehicles? If so how did it hold up? I do alot of highway driving so I would like to have some protection from the elements. I had originally considered the tride and true standard style black vinyl bra, but with a 2 tone paint job on the horizon I think it would compromise the look. Any input is greatly appreciated..... When I ordered mine, I had them put on the 3M clear protection film over the entire front end (including lower bumpers and pads) It was spendy ($595 Cdn,), but like you I wanted the protection. It is also available to do the running boards, over the headlight covers and above the windshield. Inspector is black and it is a good color to do it to. Actually all darker colors work great. You can only see a FAINT line across the hood where the film ends. They caution however that white or light silver is not as good as it does darken those colors and is more noticeable, so it depends what color you have. If you are waxing the car, test an inconspicuous area first to make sure it does not affect the finish. I used 5Star on mine and it was fine. If you check out my pics linked to my sig. below, you will see the front end and in real life, it is just as invisible. I went this way 'cause I don't like the bra look (too heavy on the front end) and the washing hassle and potential scratching taking it on and off all the time as well. Hope this helps you out.

Gmac, That is the kind of answer I was looking to get. My vehicle is also black, so getting your feedback is perfect for comparison. So was your film dealer installed? Or did they have someone else do it? Did you opt for the headlight or windshield protection? Thanks again for your input........Regards

I had the dealer handle the install but I know they jobbed it out to a 3M dealer for installation. I opted out of the headlight protection (they are plastic anyway), might still do over top of the windshield, dunno yet. THe neat thing is you can add extra where you think you need it over time. Check around for prices though as there is about a 25% variance up here at least - and see what they are using as well, as there are some knock off products that don't appear to be as effective.

I bought the invisable bra, the 3M film and am going to put it on this weekend if the rain lets up.
