I know, strap it to the roof like the old range rovers.

 

The RAV4, that's what I saw on the way home. Definitely something like this.



Only the Rav4 opens sideways, I'd like to keep the hatch opening upwards. I like the hard plastic shell, that way it can be customized and looks better than fabric, imo. Looking all over the internet and can barely find any mounts, most things are specific for jeep or other off-roaders, will have to investigate more...

 

I don't think i've seen any outside spares on a liftgate.
