Dashboard emblem install - need help!
1 Attachment(s)
Got this really cool dash script from the Filling Station. It's a replica of a 1953-1954 chevrolet dashboard emblem. It's item number ba-225 and sells for $17.50.
I trimmed of the mounting pins with my dremmel because I didn't want to put holes in the dashboard. My problem is finding mounting tape that won't show up on a black dash and will hold semi-permanently. The script is only about a 16" wide and the double stick tape I'm using now shows. (Just a little - but it still bothers me). Does 3m make a thin black double stick tape that I can use? I await any and all suggestions. |

It is not exactly semi-permanently, more like kind of permanent, but body shops use a product called plastic emblem adhesive, I have used it for many things, Velcro, plastic dash name plates, etc. Maybe do a test with a washer to a kick panel? |
Your wording, "semi-permanently" does cause some consideration. How "semi".......like maybe 3 equally distributed drops of an epoxy,Gorilla glue, etc.

i get it on a roll at the body shop supply place. you can also get it at any auto paint store. its a 3m product, just like 2 sided tape, its skinny and black, just for that type of thing. the only problem is you will have to by a whole roll, and i think its at least 20' of product
