Door panel removal
 

For those of you that have removed the door panels, is the colored trim piece in the panel removable without having to take the whole door panel off? I want to color match all the silver pieces in mine. What do ya'll think or this idea?

Ive been wanting to do this also but havent taken mine off either, but from what ive heard and read from others its not. I guess its plastic welded or something like that. Ive been thinking about just masking it off and spraying it, just have to convince the wife.

i thought about painting mine to. I'm just gonna mask it off with newspaper or something.

yeah, you gotta remove the whole panel. the trim pieces are actually plastic welded to the door panel, thus the plastic weld "rivets" have to be drilled out ( or carved out with a kitchen knife... my method ). but once you color match, you could just epoxy the plastic welds in place, then just have to worry about re-installation. i would suggest masking off the area, and painting them, much easier in my opinion

That's what I'm gonna end up doing I guess. I was just trying to avoid having the interior of my car smell like paint for a few days. I'm no expert but I don't think paint fumes are good for a 6-month old :lol:

I'm not so sure, the smells that my youngum creates would make paint seem like perfume in comparison. :lol:
