Gold line wake up call

Thanks to Mike at socal with adding a new line of springs i am not going to wait for gold line any more i think a month and 2 weeks is a bit much. Not Mikes fault at all he doesnt own gold line lol. I think gold line needs to get their head outta their @zz and push ALOT harder to get the springs done. I dont think i am alone at thinking this or am I ? I am a very easy going guy but a MONTH and 2 WEEKS come on. Again no problems with Mike. I have not used the other progress company EVER but I am willing to lose and 1/8 inch rear drop to not have to wait any more. Mike also said he thinks the company is a good one they been around for some time with racin springs and so on. I think Mike is a stand up guy for offering to let me switch my order after so long but thats the name of the game keeping us customers HAPPY I hope the install goes well :) I will put pics on as soon as i am done wtih the install. Mike said they were going out 2day I REALLY THINK GOLD LINE NEEDS A WAKE UP CALL.

HHR Pnoy NO ONE has the springs from gold line unless they had a stock pile of them since the wire is on back order from the plant and cant wind the springs with out the wired they are OUT OUT OUT Bad planning if you ask me. A big company like that to go out of stock was bad to begin with then have to wait for the new wire to come in. SOME ONE MESSED UP.
Yesua Mike told me you ordered yours :) I cant waint not to get them. I can deal with the 1/8th differance in the rear. I mean u may see it alittle since there will be a rake on the car but oh well still looks better then stock IMO :)
Good luck with them........

HOLD ON HERE. Let's set the record straight. I'm good friends with the owner of Gold-Line and it is NOT his fault. Most spring "manufacturers" have their springs wound at a large facility somewhere (they don't do it "in-house). The facility where Gold-Line has their springs wound was out of stock on the special diameter wire the HHR springs require. It is that facility's responsibility to watch their stock - not Gold-Line's.

Just like you and me, Gold-Line is currently being held "hostage" by their supplier as the orders stack up. As soon as the wire comes in, the springs will be wound and shipped to Gold-Line for powder coating, packaging, and shipment. All our pre-orders will ship out first directly from GL instead of coming here - to save time.

Just wanted to get that straight because Craig at Gold-Line is a great guy and this situation is not his fault. (Let's not forget - Gold-Line was the first to make a spring specifically for the HHR - and their springs were on most of the cars at last year's SEMA show!) They made the commitment to support us first. We should show a little support to them now.

Mike dont get me wrong I am not specifically bashing Gold line. I know he is a friend. I am just alittle up set with the entire deal and not your fault at all. I mean stuff rolls down hill and backs up to us. I dont want to put blame on one person at all but some one dropped the ball here. Again after talking to you and Emailing you I know the situation and I am here to VENT my frustrastion. I am not wrong for thinking this Forum is for saying whats on our minds. I dont hold any thing back you dont like what I or any one has to say dont read our post.(not directed at you mike) I am upset that a company the size of Gold line or any size company has something like this happen you would think they could pull alittle more strings to get production done alittle bit faster. Like I said I know myself i placed my original order may 22 and thinking ordering them with only 2-3 week wait would be ok with me but to be this long like i said some one dropped the ball. I dont know if any one else has and order older then mine. Am I the only one upset by this or am I an @zz for saying something. I am not here to HURT any ones business. I am just venting my frustrations. So in all I say to Mike and every one if you can stand the wait great but not me. I may kick my self in the @zz for not waiting but after Mike and I talked and what he said I am going to try the other springs. I am sorry if I rock the boat alittle on this but its my feelings not any one elese.

I'm not upset, and it's certainly not hurting my business any. But I think if you re-read my post again slowly, you will see that Gold-Line has no say in this matter. I see this with many manufacturers I deal with. If they can't get the materials (or run out), they can't make the parts. It is not Gold-Line's fault that their supplier ran out of a special gauge wire used to make HHR springs. (They DO have to suffer because of it though!)

You mentioned that "stuff rolls downhill." Well, please keep in mind it's rolling from someone else to Gold-Line, and then to "us." They are caught in the middle and carry the same hostility you do! They have been held hostage for 8-weeks now!

We have to keep in mind that the HHR is not the only vehicle on the road that gets lowering springs. For every set of HHR springs that is sold, you can bet there are at least a hundred or more other vehicle/style springs being sold. As a new model, we are the minority right now. Keeping parts in stock on a first-year vehicle is always difficult. Just try to get a stock rotor, shock, or strut from your Chevy Dealer (I have!), - it takes a long time! In fact, I'm still without air conditioning - waiting for a replacement a/c condenser after mine was damaged.

I just want to stand up for Gold-Line, as this situation is completely out of their hands. If you knew just how "flaky" many suppliers are in this business, you would understand its a miracle that we have ANY aftermarket parts at all!

Just want to make sure you see the big picture - it's not GL's fault.

I can echo what Mike says. The aftermarket "manufacturers" have to deal with suppliers that are much larger than they are, and have very little individual power when a situation such as a material shortage arises. In some cases there may only be one supplier for a given material, so everyone, even multiple manufacturers, may get caught up in such an issue.

That being said, even though goldline may not have the item, there are still sources with goldline springs. I have a line on a few sets in stock right now if anyone is in immediate need.

Mike again thank you. I know gold line isnt directly at fault or at all. I know the deal with the middle man gets held up in this situation. I like the Gold line product ALOT. I know they are at the hands of others. I am not trying to upset or bash any one if i am coming off that way i am sorry. Just venting is all. I dont want to upset you like i said you have made me a very loyal cust. Even if some one had the springs in stock i still held my order with socal. It just sucks being a 1st year production high demand aftermarket car. I know gold line is not responsibe. Just couldnt figure a better title. Again sorry for any misunderstanding all i wanted to do is vent MY frustrations.

No problem Dreanz - I just wanted to make sure you understood the situation. Sometimes over the internet, it's hard to know if someone really "gets" what your'e saying. No hard feelings, and I appreciate your loyalty. We will get you the springs as soon as possible.
