HID's are the way to go and for the price for the philips bulbs it's a wash. If these bulbs are 20.00 apiece. I got my HID kit for $56.99 shipped i believe. I must say they are the cat's meow man! So bright with a tint of blue. Very nice....

The guys ebay id is HIDGATE, search that and you'll see his store. Great customer service and an honest guy too. A little bit of a pain to install only because you don't have much room in the wheel well but it worked out!

Just my 2 cents

HID's without the proper reflectors or projector housings can blind oncoming traffic. Standard housings for halogen bulbs are designed to reflect more light for better output. You throw a HID in there......

Plus better check your local laws, most areas it is illegial to put a HID bulb in a non HID housing. Ever wonder why?

There are better alternatives for headlight bulbs than to care less how you affect other drivers that meet you on the road.

Soloman98: I understand what you're saying but it's upto local police to enact these laws just like tint laws, hardly ever happens.

But it still is not cool to blind oncoming traffic.

Ha i don't wanna go to atlanta if police are that strict...As far as blinding oncoming traffic, i was gettin blinded prior to putting these in. Now they just combat the others on the road.

I think my bulb may be defective, since I could not get it to turn and lock tight in the housing. And, 3 mechanics I took it to were also unable to twist it in. We completely removed the inner fender to get more room to work with no luck. Has anybody had this problem before? I am going to try my old bulb to see if that still goes in alright. Very frustrating. Especially because it would up taking an hour away from my working on my Jeep project.

Oooops-I just tried my old bulb and it went right in. Then I tried the new one and no go. Sooooo I wasted 3 mechanics and my time for one (1) hour today. Now I have to return it to Strauss and hope they have another one in stock.

Sounds like you might have double washers on the bulb! Our mechanic removed both bulbs and installed the replacements! The one would not twist in so I commented did he remove the old rubber washer on the side that wouldn't go in ! DOH ! Removed the original washer that was stuck on the housing and re-installed the new bulb and "WAHLAH", we have light !

Had the same problem on mine till I realized that the seal from the original bulb had stayed in the fixture........... Pulled it out and the new bulb went right in.
