HID Lamp conversion anyone?

Has anyone done a HID lamp conversion on their 08-09 SS yet? If so how well does it work? Do you like? And where did you buy the components at?

There's one guy who has plug and play kits for both the headlights and the fog lamps - do a search for HID or something like that and you might find his posts, I forget who he is. I don't know the specifics but there is some wire splicing involved, and I would guess it might be a bit of a pain in the ass to find someplace to mount the ballasts, but I haven't taken it apart up front to know exactly.

As for where to buy them, if you don't mind spending a little bit extra, get them from mobilehid.com. The Scion crowd always had great things to say about his product and customer service. Ebay has tons of cheapo kits but sometimes with those you get what you pay for.

Personally i do not like hids unless they are in a projector, they are way to bright if they are not.

I have HID's in my c5 with the stock lenses and the light pattern sucks yea it is brighter and there is more light but..... light goes everywhere and strangely enough 4X4's and trucks flash me more than lower cars. That is from the light pattern. There is a projector fix but it's 750$...ouch I did the silver stars in my 03 duramax but I bought a conversion kit to put the hi beam bulbs in the low beam sockets and was very pleased with the light output. Now they have silver star ultras maybe try those first.....
