Personally, I would much prefer a fiberglass hood. 3 reasons-save weight, doesn't retain heat, and bonding to metal frequently results in cracks due to the metal flexing.

Remember-the cheapest way to make your car faster is to reduce the weight. And, taking it off the front will make the car handle that much better due to an improved front to rear ratio.

I'm pretty sure that's just a mock up to make the mold. For $1000 you better be getting an actual cowl hood rather that a cowl you could buy from anywhere and have bonded on and painted.

Hood Answer

I called Teaser today and was told the Hood is a stock OEM HHR hood with a Cowl scoop molded in sanded smooth and primed for the 995.

Well I didn't want to pay that much for that hood, So I started to make a hood scoop for my 2.2L. I cut out the air flow sencor holder from the stock filter box. Mounted my filter and messured what i need to make. I'm going to make the box mount on the factory spots and make my own hood scoop on top of the air box. Cut the hole in the hood and put weather stripping around it. It might take alittle while as I'll have to do it at work on my time off, but It should work out good.

Black - that short runner length is just not going to cut it. There's a reason companies spend hours tuning the effective runner length.

Good luck with it though!

I'm just wondering why it's not good having it that short. I moved it to the drives side infront of the engine and removed the plastic on top of the rad. Air now gets to it from the 2 top holes in the grill. Took it out tonight and there is a ton of inprovment. Lots more pep at low and mid range. A lot better than stock.
