Really it seems like the HHR is the exact opposite of what others cars are. The normally used fuses that you commonly think of as inside cabin fuses are in the engine. The things you would think are near the engine are in the cabin. Just the opposite of what "normal" thinking would be.


You talking about the ambient lighting?? My 2010 SS doesn't have that...

 

It's the "ambient lighting" LED that lights the center console (radio/HVAC) at night. In my car it's in front of the circular microphone for On Star. Rotate the microphone until it falls out of the headliner and then you can access the wiring on the back of the LED housing. Fish around with your fingers until you find the small plastic holder for the light. It pulls straight out and you can then put in any color light you want...I lucked out with my Finger Light LED but I bet that any of those keychain "squeeze lights" would work fine. Or maybe Radio Shack has one.

Re-inserting the light was tricky until I discovered it was much easier to align the LED with its hole in the housing if I turned on the light.

 

I see someone already answered, but make sure you pull the FUSE....NOT the relay. I think the fuses are numbered, and the DRL one is in the 30s somewhere.

 

Ok, picking up the stuff tomorrow for my first mod. I am going to start with a Gutter Guard Grill. I can't wait. After that, I'll be painting my Calipers Red...Thanks for all of the suggestions...

 

Cool, for paint for calipers www.eastwood.com has a new motor paint rated for 650* (same as caliper paint). But you get a quart & you can save the rest. Unlike caliper paint kits.

I plan to do my calipers & drums also RED. Paint is here waiting for me... LOL
