Intercooler Piping

Has anybody used one of those universal intercooler piping kits? just curious cause they are way cheaper.

I tried one once...for me, it was a no go. Typically those kits give you basic angles and bends, but hardly ever come together smoothly. In my experience, people have bought them, and then found out they need a good amount of modification...and still won't fit as well as one that was specifically tailored to your vehicle. In the end, I shelled out the money and ended up buying one made for my vehicle...which was well worth it.

My universal piping kit is all currently unused, collecting dust in my garage. Although, it's about to be turned into custom intake piping I think...

thanks. yeah i kind of assumed there would be issues with them. what piping did you end up going with?

I got a complete Greddy kit for my S13 when I went with the JDM front end & motor.

I could have made it work with the universal, but it would have been lots of measuring, cutting, welding...and a plethora of silicon couplers and T-clamps. Bought the bolt on IC kit and had it completely installed and operational within an hour...including polishing. :twothumbs:
