louvered hoods

ok so here ya go. my new idea for bringing 50s style louvers to the new era cars. i did the cobalt hood first since i have one...LOL. you can do alot with the louvers. you can add some, take some away, change the design, slat em, do em upside down so that the louvers is on the underside and the hood is smooth looking on top. really the possibles and endless. plus you can get rid of all that heat under the hood and cool things down a bit. i will be makin these for most all cars. i may need a few test subjects if anybody is interested. We are currently working on a variety of hoods.Current list of hoods to come: 05-07 Scion TC, 04-06 Scion XB, Dodge SRT4, Chevy HHR, 06-07 Honda Civic 2DR, 07-08 Honda Fit and much much more.since im not a vendor yet i cant sell em here on the forum, but here are some pix for ya. and feel free to ask questions.

NOTE: The HHR is one hood thats on the top of my list. but due to the car still bein so new i cant get the hood thru the reproduction company i deal with. so if anybody with an HHR thats likes this idea and lives in the Harrisburg PA area or is willing to drive please contact me. i will give a deal on doin the louvers and use pictures of your ride on our website and advertisements.

Slanted louvers on each side of the hood could be pretty cool, for those sticking with the retro look.

thats what i was thinking. ive seen no aftermarket hood support for the HHR at all yet. even those not doin the retro look and do a little something and have a clean look to their hood...

There is one place that has a fiberglass cowl hood, but the quality doesn't seem very good. I wouldn't buy it anyways.

Would there be any problems putting louvers on that part of the hood due how curved it is?

Who?

I know Teazer has a fiberglass cowl, but they don't make a hood for the HHR. They custom made mine and, there were a bunch of problems. But mine was a one-off and not a full fiberglass hood.

This could be info we could use of anybody else is making aftermarket hoods.

I think we're talking about the same thing, I just though it was a replacement. I saw it at hhrboutique I think.

I haven't found one anywhere else.

i cant louver hard curves. but a slight curve is no problem. i need to find a hood to play with. i have a aftermarket reprodution dealer but they dont have em and i dont wanna pay $350 for one from the dealer. im tryin to keep the cost low so almost anybody can afford em...

It's a little far for me, but you might try ebay. There are totalled HHR's on there sometimes that are parted out.

No, Teazer stopped selling the cowl attatched to an oem hood last year, now they sell the cowl alone. Mine is not the same cowl though.
