Lowering questions

So I was going to bag the HHR but decided to keep it as the daily driver and buy a B2200 Mazda and slam it. Anyways I still want to lower the HHR, right now I am running 18x8s and want to know with lowering springs would I worry about rubbing? Also what would be a good tire size and good springs to use. Asking alot but just want to make sure I have everything right.

a lot of threads on this already so try the "search" button...if you dont have an SS you can try to get a springs from one, or try Eibach springs or even YYZ (from Powell) ..if you stick with 18s u shudnt have a problem with rubbing

Really depends on how much drop you want. Gotta decide on which tires you go with(height wise) then factor in the drop you want.
1.5 inch drop shouldn't be any problem. 2+ inches and you start to get in that
"will it fit, clear, rub etc. area".

Also the wheel offset is important, if tires are out there & you head up into a steep drive, you can likely scrape body on tire(s).

I have the boss style 318s with a 42 offset. Really just want the 1.5 drop, as for the tire size which would you all suggest. 215/45-18 or225/45-18?

YYZv2, and with 8" wheels I like the 245x40, it's 3mm shorter than 225x45. Heres one on a 7.5" wheel

8" wheels? So THATS where your mower wheels went!!
