Mama got new shoes... Finally!

Well, I wasted a year and a half buying set after set of Moon Eyes, just to have them crack. Moon Eyes was no help. They said they had never had a set crack before... Pretty good record, although completely unbelievable. Those of you who were around back then might remember how meticulous I was installing them. Making sure they were perfectly centered where they wouldn't wobble going down the road, etc. The last set I put on for Bud's 'DejaVous Rendezvous' were cracked before I got home from the Run lasting a total of three days.

So... no more wasted money on Moon Eyes for me! Marie has been driving with just hub caps for a while now and not liking it at all. I told her she had to wear out the 16" tires before I bought new wheels. Well, when we got back from our trip to Egypt we had a flat tire waiting for us at the airport...

So, Mama's got new shoes!

And here is a look back at where we started...

I think we can live with it!

Thanks! They are 18x8 ADR Propulsion wheels with 225/40/18Z-rated tires on them (in case I ever want to drive 150!). I lowered the front with adjustable coil-overs last year but the rear is still stock height. I have had a set of Gold-Lines in the garage for over a year but we kinda like it raked up like it is. After we drive it with the 18s for a while though, we might change our mind.

I think what I like most so far is the meatier tires and the offset filling the wheel wells. The taller wheel is just a bonus.

Songman; I like the new look! liked the old look also. I had the moons on my HHR for over a year had them get loose and rattle and had to tighten, then I put silcone on four spots around rim that did the trick but a p.i.a. to ck air press. I now have the stainless push on from hupcap mike that he says don,t fit a HHR!
ya right they are on now and have not come off or get loose & easy to ck air press... Your new wheels still look good ,
