The pricing is a good price. The hood will be made out fiberglass also. So it will be cheaper in price. I need a total of 11 people willing to get this hood if you would like to get this hood and your are serious about it please let me know. I will give you all the info thanks

Corner latches are recommended for most glass hoods. How about this one?

Since I'm possibly looking at a cowl hood, I may be interested.

Ballpark pricing is a consideration. But, I AM VERY HESITANT, to confirm to something that I can't put my hands on. I am very "picky" about fiberglass and components made from fiberglass.

For instance, is it hand laid glass matting...what type of mat is used. how many layers of glass, what is the type of resin used in the surface coat, etc.??

Is it "chopper-gun" made....again what are the components?

What is the warranty? Since the hood will be used on a daily vehicle, and not a show car, will it have enough structural intergrity to withstand that type of use? Will it have reinforced supports for the hood latch and other hardware?

Not being a jerk here. But, these are questions that need to be answered before I even consider a commitment. I've done "glass" parts before and got "stung" on the first ones...the last were different, because I learned my lesson.

 

No one can expect ANY LESS from potential customers than what you've laid out.

They can't expect anyone to 'commit' without them providing the facts.

I would be willing to make the hood and absorb the mold cost if you can supply me a stock hood to work from and had 10 people who wanted the hood. The price of the hood would be around $425.00 to $450.00 and would take about 5 weeks to put into production from the time I receive the stock hood.

plus about 150 or so for shipping. I talked him today and I will be dropping my hood off once I get 10 or 11 people to do it. it's all hand made stuff that's why it will take 5 weeks to make.

The hood will be hand laminated with 2 layers of 2 oz fiberglass mat using top of the line polyester resin and will have a smooth "Class A" gelcoat finish. The inner panel is made the same way and is bonded to the outer skin while it is still in the mold to eliminate any possibility of warp or twist in the finished product. You will use the stock hardware to hinge and latch the hood but the stock strut will be to strong for the lighter hood. For liability reasons we will recommend the use of hood pins. Our products carry a one year warrant

I Was In On This Until The Hood Pins. You Should Be Able To Make It Strong Enough To Use Stock Supports. And Latches In This Modern Day. Lite Hoods And Hood Pins Belong On Race Cars. My2c Great Idea . I'd Like To Hear More. Thanks For Workin Hard On This.
