Okay here's a mod not for the faint of heart...sandblasted window etching, I squeezed these in around moving and show preparations last weekend...yeah, I know the pics suck and the truck is dirty, but it is 5:30 am on a raining Thursday...everything will look better Saturday...

Looks like good work. I haven't seen that done in years.

Looks cool. Nice Job.

You might want to go back in and edit your post and put a carrier return between each so they don't make the page so wide. Also...one of them is missing.

I do not mean to offend because as I have said before Mods are a personal taste thing and what works for one may not work for all.

But IMHO this makes the black HHR look more like what some have referred to it as...a hearse.

But again, as long as you like it then it's all good!

This is an old school mod and it makes a black HHR look more like a hearse because that is the history of this type of etching funeral hearses (wagons) from the old west. Nfboy you definitely didn't offend the mods should make people think, comment and wonder. I appreciate your opinion. I have done etchings since the 70s but I haven't done any in at least five years, so I think I might start doing them again at car shows etc, along with pinstriping and airbrushing...Deb, I always screw up posting the pics so I went back and put the pics in the gallery, I should have done that in the first place...I am still just barely computer lierate...but thanks for the tips!!!

Deadly!

Glad you took my remark in stride.

I like it. My only concern is it might be a distraction when looking over your right shoulder for a lane change. Today I had the drivers side passanger window down half way, and that made me look twice thinking there was an object in the left lane. But glass etching is definitely something I will look into now.

(Actually I already had my VIN etched in all of my windows).

Marie wants to etch the rear side windows in ours. She wants some sort of cross there... And yes, it does make it look like a hearse and that is probably the reason it was done. Marie wanted (and still wants) a hearse. Eventually we'll find her an old Caddy hearse to build. In the meantime, we're building the black HHR.

My wife was a paramedic so we have toyed with customizing an old ambulance, but secretly I have always wanted an old Caddie hearse...not a morbid thing, they just have crazy styling!!!
