I've been wanting to use my old Yakima bike rack for almost four years now! Is that a Yakima-approved application now for their track/tower system? Do you have any problems moving the towers around on the curved roof? Where did you drill the holes?

the system is a whole... the towers slide along the rails. to do that just unlock each tower and it easily slides wherever you want it. you can also take the rack off just leaving the rails. the only down side to me is that the rails are permanently drilled into the roof. i don't know exactly where the holes are because i got free installation. but i put on bike and kayaks with no problems. any questions ill be happy to answer or give you pics.
If you could post pics of the top of the rails, looking down, that would be great. I'm just curious how many of the holes your installer used and where they were drilled. A measurement from the tailgate to the end of the rail would be very helpful, along with the measurement of the spread between the rails. Thank you so much!
i agree
i would think that the same holes could be used. but i am not sure. i agree that it looks better , that is without the top pieces (cross rails). i think i would like to change out mine. also , i think that with the cross rails on , that the oem looks better.
