Wow...those are beautiful...definitly some bling bling.

mizzouHHR 11-21-2006 07:33 AM

Very nice :thumb: I think they would look great on an HHR. Just to be sure you should ask 06 to do a photoshop for ya :D

O6ChevyHHR 11-21-2006 07:47 AM

the 18s~

O6ChevyHHR 11-21-2006 07:49 AM

if you want me to do a photoshop of it just take a side pic of your car and post it on here with a pic of the rims and ill be happy to. But most likely not till next week, because schools out today~ and I dont have photoshop at home yet.

Very heavy wheel. But I love Ronals. I have a set of vintage Ronal Turbos on my VW Golf (my "get me back and forth to work daily car").

I like the look but always wonder how much time I am going to have to spend cleaning the brake dust from the nooks & crannys and then polishing them.

Those wheels look pretty easy to polish. I've had MUCH worse...

IMO I would go with the 17s. After looking through the diffrent pics it seems the HHR is the type a vehicle that if your rims are to big it kinda steals away from the rest of the vehicle cause all you notice is the wheels....I think I am just going to get some 16" chrome that way I can get rid of my fugly hub caps and just get a nice set on there.

Don't think I could possibly run 16s on an HHR. As a basic rule, I try to not run anything smaller than the factory wheel... I realize the base line HHRs came with 16s, but... Mine didn't ;) .

I think 18s are just about right. But they gotta tuck... Too wide, or wrong offset, will kill the look.

Oh ok. Well I would just go with the same size as your factory. Look at it this way. If you stick with the same size you can save money by not buying tires..

GDZHHR 11-21-2006 09:39 AM

My Spring Edition came with 16" chrome, its an LT1.

When I get whatever new wheels, I'll be selling my 16" chrome. I really like them, just looking for a new look to go with other changes I'm working on.

longhorn 11-21-2006 10:05 AM

Nice wheels. I haven't decided which way to go yet with "Turtle". Either old school mooneye dishes are modern rims. I'd go with the 18s unless it's going to cause the car to ride too hard.

Thanks for the offer Mike but I have a pretty good idea what they'll like like. Great!!

Hoping Mike @SoCal chimes in. I've pretty much decided on getting these, just deciding on 17 or 18's now. After what I've been through, worried about fit. I'd like to go with the 18's but don't want any problems.

Thanks for the input so far, keep it coming!:thumb:

If we haven't had probs with 20's there is no reason you should have any probs with the 18's. Just as long as you size your tires right and your offset isn't too far out you should be just fine! Good luck with your new wheels! Should make your HHR look even better!

Snoopy 11-21-2006 10:50 AM

Nice looking wheels. But, for some reason they remind me of the Batmobile.

As far as brake dust, etc.....as soon as you have the wheels, coat them with a polish or wax, depending on the wheel composition. And, do this several times. Also, do the inside, that is visible after mounting. I redue all my wheels when I do rotation, also. Generally, just need to hose off and wipe dry. But, I do have a dedicated California Duster for the wheels, that I use in between washings.

Many people have commented and asked what I do to make my wheels look so good (especially people who have the same wheel, which is the stock polished aluminum 17's).

I'm really leaning to them. They are Boyd's and as soon as I saw them my jaw dropped open!:D

They are some of the most bad-ass wheels I've seen. About $110 more each than the other I listed here.

Take what you can afford.

O6ChevyHHR 11-21-2006 05:31 PM

LOL... Not government housing, not Great Lakes. Actually just outside of the city limits of Belleville, IL.

My house, my driveway. I've lived in USAF housing, though... Just not around here!

Will this set up be okay?

18X7, offset 35, 225/45/18 GForce

Car will NOT be lowered.

Thanks for any input!

john_a_basilio 11-21-2006 09:14 PM

I usually just look for rims that are 16x7 (for you 18x7) and have a bolt pattern of 5-110. After you pick your rims the site will recommend the tire size that will fit that rim.

longhorn 11-21-2006 09:21 PM

Been looking at your stock rims, you gonna be selling them?

GDZHHR 12-02-2006 05:19 PM

Talked to Jeff at truckshop.com on Friday and they were able to order these with a 42 offset so I should be fine right?
