Paint chips on Hood and Front Fenders

Has anyone used any type of paint touch-up kits so too repair paint chips. If so what brand did you use?

Bought a touch up pen and a clear coat pen from automotivetouchup.com and am very happy with them. On first test application, I thought it was a poor match (I figured my Golden Teal Metallic would be tough to match). But after it dried and I applied the clear coat, it was a perfect match.

Unhappy Thin paint

It pains me every time i look at the chips on my front end, almost a year and 22000 miles and its ten times worse than what i replaced, a 2002 ford explorer sport with 86000 miles. and same driving ( lots of highway 70- 100 miles a day ) Not too inpressed with the super thin paint on the funnest car i've ever had, Guess i'll get over it, Thats why there's paint shops.

I got mine from the dealer. It works great and matches great. It also comes with a pen so you can just roll on the paint to the chip or a brush in side so you can brush it on.

Mine from the dealer doesn't quite match... It's a tad bit too dark, but it looks better than the stone chips! I had originally got it to cover the missing paint on the running boards where the stones took it all off. At least it looks better than nothing. I'm thinking maybe the SOM was hard to match or something...

I got touch up paint from my dealer, but the paint has faded over the years, that the touch up paint looks like dark specks on where it was applied.

Got the paint from the dealer. It still hurts. O well i guess if i keep this car for along time, I'll repaint it.

Not sure if its the Thin paint or if the Shape of the car makes it easier to cheap due to all the angle's/curves. I've even noticed a few on my rear door's where the Body bows out. Not sure how they got there. Its a 08 so it has the running boards. 8k Mile's and about 8 Rock chips.

I have found chips on the hood (to be expected) but on the tailgate and around the taillights---no idea of how they got there! I remember years ago some car manufactures use to paint a clear rubberized coat on the lower side of the car, I wonder if that could be done to the front of the hood??

I noticed the mileage of your other vehicles and I am impressed. How do those other vehicles run (hint-tips for long life)? I change oil on My HHR every 3000K miles and follow all service recs but I want to make this baby last. I have an 06, LT purchased 07/04/06 and I currently have 78Kmiles on it.
