painting Stearing wheel Emblem

Ive painted Chevy bow ties for friends and they have turned out ok. I am finalizing the deal to get a HHR tuesday then im going to start playing with it.

One question i have though is if you guys thing that the bow tie on the steering wheel could be painted?

I am not an Expert by any means and it seems like a tricky spot to do it.

I dunno how paint would turn out on the bowties. I used a scrap piece of vinyl to change the color of mine

The hardest part about it was getting it cut out to the right size. After that, it's just lining it up and sticking it down

Thats how I did it when I did the bowties on the front grill and rear beauty bar. There's a gap between the gold of the bowties and the chrome that surrounds it. I layed the vinyl down on the bowties and used a razor blade to trim off the excess, using that gap as a guide. It wasn't as easy to feel on the steering wheel so I took the time to trim it as close as I could get it before I stuck it on there
