REAL wood, HHR Woody or Beach Wagon
Hi people new here, love the HHR and love the whole Woody/Beach wagon/surf/tiki stuff, so having an HHR with real wood panels vs the decal kits is what im looking for to take the kats to the beach for thier walk, meow!!.
Any info on vendors/locations to set that up would be appreciated. Thanks Kuika |
There is a place in CA that does it, but I can not remember the name. When I do I will post it. Very Expensive if I remember.

PT Bob does have some good ideas.....this wasn't one of them!!
He must have added the new grill sinvce the last pics I saw, this ride just keeps getting uglier. headlight are just wrong!! Great idea, just done poorly. You know, someone will fall in love with it and that a good thing. The more strange stuff that gets done, may just lead to some cool stuff too. Like the rolled visor PT Bob did. Only HHR visor I've seen that looks right! |

Words can`t describe my feelings when I saw this veh.
I still like this one better...:D |
YEa thats what needs to be made BB!
|
Looks like that HHR rear ended a truck full of shopping carts.
|
Well, IF y'all had taken a look at the link I included, you would have seen that this wasn't exactly this designer's idea. This was the wet dream of a customer who was trying to recreate a look from his past. We actually don't know how Bob felt about it, but hey, it's money and it's a commission. Like I said, it wasn't my cup of tea, but I love a controversy!! I have a teensy photo of the orig Buick they were trying to duplicate:
http://www.mitzkity.com/images/1953buick.jpg http://www.mitzkity.com/images/1953buickhhr.jpg By the way, it's not paint, it's some kind of thick vinylly stuff ---very strange looking. |
I'd love to see a standard real-wood kit on an HHR. The wheels and tires on that Buick-esque HHR are really sweet.
|
Well they did a great job of recreating, the platform just wasn`t right.

And that's not real wood. It's a paint process. They do carry wooden panels that look better. And I agree on that front end

You have to go back a review the HHR to really "depreciate" how bad it looks.
This car (I say that tongue in cheek), is best viewed with one eye closed, and your hand over the other...:D |
It's kinda like seeing your grandmother naked.
I"M BLIND, I'M BLIND. |
That actually happened to me once, and I almost had a sex change operation!

Since the posting are a few years old, I doubt there will be any present responses to this!
Anyone know of the whereabouts of the "woody, 53 Buick HHR" done by Bob Cohen? Thanks. |
You appear to know Bob Cohen. While this is a very old posting, I just saw the woody he made and wonder if you have any information on either Bob or the car. I saw another posting recently (2012) with Oregon plates on it. So may be in Oregon.
Anyway, have read the comments on this thread, and while there seems to be a mixed consensus about whether it is good or bad, I still like it! Just got my HHR (2011) a couple of months ago. So hoping to maybe spruce it up a little. Maybe, for sure, not the hood/grill change, but some of the other touches...thanks. MAHK |
Don't open the link on post #3. I did and had problem with computer...john
