Question Rear bumper fascia protector

Hi Guys,

Any members of our HHR Family that had the Rear Bumper Fascia Protector GM Part Number: 17801385 installed
If it is glued, I assume it does come with the famous M3 tape ...

Thanks!
John

You can pretty much find them on all different Websites. I paid 51.00 for mine. Who knew plastic was so expensive

Bought mine from GM Direct, just don't remember the price since it was two years ago. It is stuck on with 3m tape, only wish it extended to cover the rear of the bumber more. Thats were most of the scratches occure. IMO

FYI, It doesn't work on the HHR SS unless you're going to trim it. I"m still looking for rear protection on my new SS.

I'm glad that it looks good and adds a finishing touch to the look of the rear end because if I had added it in hopes of actually protecting the rear bumper, I'd be seriously disappointed. It really doesn't provide much protection, and what protection it does provide is in an area that is probably the least likely to need it. But it looks good and finishes off the bumper nicely. I negotiated it into my deal -- was on the we-owe paperwork for $51.

Agree that it just looks good and offers very little protection.

Probably just a carry over of the retro look from the days when people actually stepped on the bumper to reach inside the rear doors.

Uh mine fit without any trimming. You just have to eyeball where it goes though.

When I went to place it I realized I'd have to cut the lip off to make the double sided tape reach. (the normal HHR has a bulge, the HHR SS has a flat bumper. Did you add extra tape?
