Remote start question

I just purchased a 2011 2LT .i just noticed that I don't have the factory remote start on it. I believe it was standard. Would I only need t purchase the right remote to have the remote start?

You would need to check the sticker on the inside of the passenger glovebox door, If it lists AP3, then you should have remote start. Of course, it was only available with automatic transmission. Here is a thread you may find interesting. https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...ion-ap3-28551/

Most former HHR rental cars had the remote start deleted. That's the way the rental car companies ordered them new.

2010-2011 did not have RS standard.

Scroll through the settings on the DIC. Or, look for the AP3. Or, look for wires going to the hood latch. The method in the link RJ posted will NOT work for 2010-2011 and some 2009.

If you do have it installed and turned on in the DIC settings Panic+Lock = Start. Press Lock, then Panic+Lock.

You will also find that you cannot set the tire positions without a special tool. The letting air out method does not work. That is buried in the Owner Manual.

Yes. Unless that's more than $50.
