i did'nt know that/if gm has 1...but there is an aftermarket 1 that i've seen tested on tv on motor week...but , they are also a sponsor of motor week...they may be biased , but it sounded good to me...it continuasly keeps an electric charge going thru all the body/frame that is supposed to prevent rust.

Hmm.... I don't know, but that just sounds like a gimmick...

it may be...i have no college degree , but it sounds like good science to me , i think the same , or simular system is used in some building construction....i don't totally understand how the liquid converter , or my tv works  , but i know that it does ;)...i'll be doing some more searching online to find out more about it , but i hope to find that it works , and find the time to put 1 on my hhr...they are easy to install and not very expensiive , especailly compared to replacing body panels.

Well let me know what you find out...I too would be interested. I would assume it probably helps against little bits of rust possibly, but road salt is pretty harsh.... Maybe it works better for people who don't live where they salt a lot.... I'm just guessing though.

It could be related to electrolysis: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/andyspatch/rust.htm

I've used sodium carbonate in a tub of water and a battery charger to kill rust on machine parts for machine restoration.

or not...

Rust

I have rust bubbles on lower door seams on both front doors of my '07. Is it worth a trip to the dealer or are they just running people around on the issue?

I had this same problem a few years ago. If you search the site you should be able to find a thread I made with pictures of my rust issue. I brought my HHR into the body shop of my local dealer and they repaired the damaged areas. The sealed the bottom seam on all 4 doors and I haven't noticed any problems since.
