I just took the interior pieces off of the rear door and removed the wiper assembly. Then youll have to remove the rear door release switch so you can get access to the wiper hole better. On the backside of the door (behind the wiper hole) just go around the edge of the hole with some 80 grit sandpaper and scuff up the surface real good. With the outside portion of the door clean get some good painters masking tape thats about 3" or more wide and cover the wiper hole, but do not press the tape down in the hole just let it lay smooth over it. The tape will give you a smooth edge that matches the contour of the outside of the door. Then mix up some bondo (not too hot so you have time to work) and from the inside apply the bondo mashing it on the tape firmly (finger or popsickle stick will do here) so you get all the air bubbles out. Make sure you work it outwards so it sticks to what you sanded on the inside of the door. Then let the bondo harden and pull off your tape. You will have a smooth finished edge on the outside of the car ready for paint.
I have some other things i wanna do now so i didnt have mine painted yet. I went to the vinyl shop i used to work at and cut a 1.25" radius of black vinyl and placed over the hole until i get it to the body shop. But as you can see if done properly you cant even tell it was a hole there. I wanted to photo my steps but couldnt get a camera. Anyone with questions ill try to help.
I know the proper way to have done this would have been to weld in a piece of metal plate but the metal on these cars is just too thin to try to weld on and no bigger than a 1" hole bondo will be just fine.
The rear trim was scuffed with a scotch brite pad wiped with prepsall and painted with krylon fusion.
