Source for panel doors

Just bought a 2009 HHR w/solid rear quarters. The reason is I wanted a panel look (for my business) but with the option to tranport more than 2 humans when the even arises. So, I want to find 2 panel doors to swap in place of my passenger doors. I understand I will need to rig a way to pop these doors open but I can deal with that once I have them. I would prefer white and in good condition but if I have to I have a shop that is ready to paint them.

I looked on car-parts.com but it's hard to tell if they are panel doors or not. Are there any suggested sources for me to look at?

Also, are all HHR years compatible as far as these panel doors?

Much appreciated, I look forward to being a member of this forum.

Welcome to the Site Good luck finding the doors. You may have to go through Chevrolet. IMO, It would have been much easier had you purchased the Panel. You could have removed the box and purchased the rear seat and installed it.

Welcome to the site!

You can tell on the car-part site...it asks for panel or "exc. panel" after you specify rear door in your search...the salvage yard doesn't always follow the template provided though look in the description of the door...if it says PW or tinted glass...

These door shells are quite expensive from GM, I thought about doing it but I can do alot of welding for $1K+

I considered both ways but then you have to find... seats, seatbelts, moulding that accomodates the seat belts, etc. Plus you would be missing the rear airbags. So I decided it would be easier to just change the doors at my earliest convenience of finding some then rigging a way to pop them open which I'm sure is within my abilities.

if you can find the full panel it might have the "popper" from the factory with it then you would just need to run wires and switches.

That assembly (solenoid, whatever) is in the panel doors right? So if I buy complete doors from a salvage vehicle I will have everything I need, correct? (except switches & wire of course).

In other words, nothing different about the door jamb of the vehicle?

Ok, yesterday I picked up a complete pair of rear panel doors. The exterior and interior colors are correct too. I am examining the wiring and would appreciate it if anyone has any wiring pinouts for the HHR rear door wiring harness where it interfaces to the cars body. Much Appreciated!
