Speedometer doesn't light during day

I can't read my speed during the day because the speedometer is recessed and dark.
It only lights at night. Is there any way to keep it lighted during the day?

Welcome to the site, try turning the headlights on manually via the multi switch

Or place a cover on the magic eye in middle of dash, near windshield.

Actually turning your headlights off during the day should make the dash brighter.

When the DRLs are on the dash should be at its brightest, when at night with headlights on it should be a little dimmer.

It sounds like to me that your night lights are always on, you may have a faulty auto light sensor like mentioned above.

Easy way to check that is to get out of your car and look at the tail lights, if they are on low your night lights are on.

(DRLs only come on in gear, don't get out of the car and look)

Are you turning your headlights on or just leaving them on auto? Owner Manual via link in my sig.

My '08 in daylight w/ light set to auto, & running the DLR show No lighting in my dash, it only lights up (dash) when I turn ON the lights.

What I meant was get out of your car and see if your night driving lights were on, which means the DRLs are off and the dash would be dim.

The dash is much dimmer at night as to not distract you from the road.

oh, and I may have miss read something.

The dash lights as a whole are off during the day with the what ever that dash LCD is called being on bright. Then at night the dash completely lights up and as a whole is dimmer than just the LCD during the day.

My bad, that’s what I though he couldn’t read. As in direct sun, the LCD is unreadable, with the night driving lights on.

Sorry about the mistake, but now it sounds like you have tinted your car?

Only lights lit on sunny day are the DRL, nothing in rear, or dash.

And with Headlights manually turned on show dash lighting, & brightness can be regulated by the dimmer on dash board.
