Smile Sunroof Air/Bug Deflector

Hello...

First time poster....Got my HHR a week ago tomorrow - Summit White with everything except the Onstar - Anyway, has anyone else found the sunroof air/bug deflector to cause more noise? I have found that if I hold it down the sound is much less noticeable. Anyone know of anyway to de-activate that? I will be the first to admit that my "car" knowledge is very limited at best! But I love my HHR!!

Thanks
Teddi

I noticed that terrible noise myself. Quite annoying!
I have thought about something like this but haven't made that final decission.
I don't know if anyone from this group has installed one of these type of units yet.

Welcome to ChevyHHR.net! and a white HHR ta boot! YIppie!

We have a sunroof on our Equinox and there are alot of bad sunroof wind deflectors out there. most cause a ton of noise and i found that Benevento makes great ones and they are priced well too. the one we have uses a clip that goes under and really holds it down and has given us no problems in the 1.9 years we have used it since new

this is their website but they only sell to dealers but you can look for what you want

they make 6 different models that are shown on the webpage

the one Sindy is showing is a Benevento and allows each person to put control air into the inside. we have just the standard one.

CJ, which one do you think would work? I've seen these at JC Whitney but they don't list any as fitting the HHR.

i dont have an HHR with a sunroof so you need to measure the width and any with the clips should work cause they go in the corners and are easy to install.

call Benevento and they can probably tell you what will work.

I've noticed more "buffeting noise by manually holding it down than leaving it alone, especially if all windows are down. maybe just me tho....

I agree. It seems to me the noise is worse without the thing that pops up. But that shows me that a guard like this should work even better.

on our equinox, we have just a regular one and it doesnt make any noise at all. we open it to get rid of the buffeting from opening the back seat window for the dog to stick his head out of.
