Sunroof deflector or just get it fixed?

Blackie's sunroof broke on one of the sides yesterday afternoon (see pic I took from another thread: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/showthread.php?t=11629).

I knew it was only a matter of time it would break--the first thing I do when I get in Blackie is open or pop up the sunroof, so I use it ALL the time.

Luckily I was near the dealer when this happened and while it was too late to fix it yesterday, they did help me close it at least (service guy held it down while I slowly closed it). I'm still under warranty and paid extra for the full-coverage, so they will fix it.

My question--if you have a deflector, do you prefer it to the mesh it had before?
In the interim, I will get it fixed (I miss it!), but thinking perhaps I should consider the deflector...

Yes, no, comments please!
(looks easy to install)
Thnx!

I've never had a sunroof in a car before, and I'm lovin' it. sometimes sun... sometimes moon.

I think the mesh deflector is very nice, but I honestly didn't know there was another option. Got any pics linkys of such?

The only car we ever had a deflector on was our Infiniti G20. It worked great when you had the moonroof completely open. If you like the look then go for it:

The 3 things I insisted on when I got the car:
1. Imperial Blue Metallic
2. 2LT chrome package
3. Sunroof (my sister tried to talk me out of it--not her car I told her! )

Got 2 out of three--and TOTALLY LOVE having the sunroof.

That being said--if you click on the link I have, it is a how-to on how to replace the mesh with a deflector--I think it looks pretty cool and while I know the dealer will fix it for me, wonder if long-term, I should get a deflector instead?

I installed the windscreen on my HHR and really like it as the stock mesh one made to much noise for me. I also have one on my Infiniti G20.
I have pictures in my gallery if you want to see how it looks.

I've had both, Mesh on the HHR and a Deflector on a Camry, Gotta say I like the seamless look of the mesh. If I'm rolling with the roof open, I've usually got the music going at a fiarly decent volume too. the noise doesn't bother me.

Course, I'm a stock look kinda guy.

Did you have the mesh and the wind deflector on at the same time? Doesn't seem like there is room for both??

I will take Blackie in this week and hopefully they can fix it--still under warranty, etc. But was thinking of getting the deflector anyhow to have, but if I can have it on with the mesh, sounds like the plan.
