Tail light question
Tail light question
I am thinking about replacing my back-up lights with tail lights and putting my back-up lights where my rear reflectors presently reside. I'm pretty sure the tail light system won't be overloaded but I'm also going to use LED replacement bulbs.
Can anyone think of any issues?

shouldnt have any issues..led is lower voltage than stockers..draws way less on elec system..my thoughts are what are you doin with the old holes for the back up lights???fillin em in???id put some good insulation wrap on your wires too considering they are going to be exposed to the elements under the rear bumper..
just to keep you up with led technology..GROTE,they are a big rig lighting supplier..now has FLEXLIGHT..a bendable, shapable, cut with scissors LED lights..they just came out in the last 3 months..in TRUCKING magazine..really cool stuff...

Thanks Pyro,
I saved both sites for future reference.
I plan on replacing the back-up lights with another set of tail lights, then removing the reflectors, cutting out the material behind the reflector and putting a set of lights behind the opening. Or another option would be to mount a set of driving lights peeking out just below the bumper.
Those Sider Lites might work in the 59 Caddy tail lights that I'm going to put on my Harley

And you have to flip the left and right assemblies (that is, right tail assy goes in the left backup hole, and vice versa). This is because of the curve of the sheetmetal at the outer edge of the lights.
