what is the glovebox on the dash called?? and do the 2 screws in the front let you remove the whole box or is there some other parts to loosen
|
Dash cubby, collect all, upper bin, junk box. Those two screws will allow you to remove it. |
thanks buddy, seems like a spring has sprung on one of the back hinges, maybe a trip to a u-pull-it place for a new used one
|
just did a quick e-bay, found 'em
|
It's the rubber bumpers that do the springing.

However, as I pointed out: it is the rubber bumpers that provide the "spring". Mine always tried to wander off of the spot they are glued to. I just moved them back periodically.

i need these stupid little things as mine are starting to stick and wont allow the bin to open sometimes.
$7 for two but shipping to canada is anywhere from $20-45 haha wtf |
I bet there is GM dealership in Canada, somewhere.
|
19180975 is the GM part number for those bumpers. and a Canadian GM website! https://www.gmpartsdepot.ca/p/Chevro.../19180975.html |
If it's the rubber bits sticking to the lid use this stuff...
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...067d5c1ea1.jpg Best rubber treatment anywhere... kind of pricey and wouldn't be worth buying for this one thing. But a bottle goes a long way so treat all the rubber on the car and forget about dry rot and hardening. This stuff works! |

BUT the right hinge was<is> broke in two<to>. super glue for now !! Thanks guys for all the replies. is this a great site or what !!!!
