Wax Blaster

Has anyone tried this stuff? I just got it in the mail today, but I don't think I'll have time to try it until probably tomorrow. Just wondered if anyone else has tried it or heard of it. I figure it's worth a shot...even if it is a gimmick, oh well...

Well, I tried it, and just as I suspected, a gimmick. It did take some wax off, but not off the black plastic.... It managed to get on the paint and strip the wax from that, so I had to reapply some more.... Oh well. At least I know. I'd rather try it then not know if I could have something that actually worked....

I did pick up a bottle of Simple Green today, and that looks like it might have done the trick...we'll see in a few days though.

I have used peanut butter on the black plastic to remove wax, good job and cheap!

simple green works great to clean your wheels too and it is safer than the caustic wheel cleaners out there.

I use an body shop quality surface prep cleaner. Its made to remove wax, and anything else from the surface that could contaminate new paint and primer. It doesn't damage the rubber and you only need to dampen the rag, not soak it. No hard rubbing involved either.

I remember you saying that before....but I don't think I'm ready to do that.... Something about putting peanut butter on my car...sounds like vandalism that happened to me once! I think I'd rather stick with harmful contaminants that don't work....

I've successfully removed wax residue from textured plastic with a toothbrush and dish washing detergent.

i have used Dawn Dish soap before and it worked good removing the wax. A buddy of mine washes his car with it in the spring time before he puts his first fresh coat of wax on for the year.
