Wheel thread size?

Hi, I'm getting new wheels for my ride and will likely need to buy some tuner lugnuts to put them on.

Anybody knows the thread size that we have? I can't seem to find that info anywhere.

Also, I'm getting 7.5in 17" rims with a 45 mm offset. I have 2 choices for tires: 215/50/17 or 235/45/17; both have the same diameter, but obviously the second choice is wider than stock. My HHR is not lowered and will never be. Has anyone tried the second size? I'm not anticipating problems per say, but would an extra 3/8" inside and outside rub on anything? Again, just trying to make sure; I'm likely to go with the stock 17 size anyway, just for warranty purpose.

Contact Jeff at www.truckshop.com. He is very helpful with these kinds of questions.

I have 18", 8.5" wide and with a 34mm offset, on 235/40/18 on mine. No problems whatsoever, no rubbing. I have not lowered either.

And keeping the stock wheels for when it goes in for service..does not take too long for me to swap out.

The thread size is M12x1.5. The stud length is 41.5mm.

Thanks guys, that's what I was suspecting from some ebay searches. I just wasn't 100% sure.

That's good news, although your offset is much smaller, so all of your "extra tire" must be pushed outward. I'll just have to feel how much clearance I now have on the inside. I'm sure there won't be any issues. Both tire sizes seem to be around the same price, so depending on availability / deals, I want to keep looking for both.

I just have to wait for UPS to pull their heads out of their *ss. Two of my wheels are waiting for me at the Ottawa terminal; the other two have showed up downtown Toronto this morning, via Montreal.
