Widest wheel and tire combo for HHR

??You talkin the Michelin Pilot sports. They are very good tires. If you were expecting R-Compounds from the factory then I understand, even though these are meant to be drivers, not sports cars. For A/S tires they are very good.
Try Nitto NT555 extremes or Toyo RA888s. They are both very sticky R-compounds and the Toyos are rain race tires so they can work in wet conditions. Since my SS is a daily commuter it will not see R-compounds ever.

Here's a link to a thread on here about a guy destroying one of his custom & redrilled wheels. got specs in one of his posts for the redrilling. Also a link to a wheel shop that would do the job for him. Oh, he's also located in switzerland so a lot of shops here wouldn't ship, but I digress... clic pic

well, i only say that because with the power we have, we smoke up the tires really fast. with something more like the BFG G-Force Sports or something (i have those on my Camaro...just an example) they'd grip and launch quite a bit better. i understand and completely agree these tires are great for a DD, and i actually do plan on getting a set of NT555 eventually for running at the track and such, on their own dedicated set of wheels. my SS is my DD as well, so i don't want to totally kill longevity for daily tires, i just want a little more grip.
also Michelin owns bfgoodrich and Uniroyal, sorta like a good better best
bfg makes killer truck tires
