07 to 06 stereo swap?

It looks like its going to be a headache to put a aftermarket stereo in so instead I`m wondering if it`s possible to swap a 2006 factory xm equiped stereo for the 2007 xm equiped stereo so that I can use the SIR GM1 sirius reciever unit which is supposed to work with an 06 stereo. Any ideas? Thx

I've scanned the posts for the aftermarket addition of satellite radio, specifically the SIR-GM1. I'm confused now, does everyone know for certain one way or the other if the SIR-GM1 will work? I have the headunit that appears to be XM ready with the CAT button, etc. Thanks!

I'd suggest a new thread, you'll get more responses.
