09 hhr with onstar/bluetooth delete....
Hello all, Just purchased an 09 HHR LT from a good friend...went to "pair" my phone only to find out that this car has" am/fm,cd with aux input jack (replaces std/opt radio)" and onstar/bluetooth delete for phone. I am currently using a plug in/tune the radio to get my phone and sirus. It is really horrible to use and would like to get a factory setup. I do have all the steering controls. Any advice on where to start? Thanks
I do not believe the HHR came with a Bluetooth option to connect to your phone. I've recently replaced the original deluxe sound system with an aftermarket one and now have the ability to play music and make phone calls via Bluetooth. It wasn't much money and works well enough.
Sounds like you have a former rental or fleet car. Those mostly had that stuff factory deleted. Guessing you don’t have remote start either ? OnStar button on the rear view mirror ?
Many old threads on this site about former rental HHR’s. Without the OnStar module and setup you’re out of luck.
Edit. Yes the factory Bluetooth is phone only, no music.

Firemangeorge, I do have leather and remote start...Its the 2LT preferred equipment group ...my mfgs installed options state "delete onstar/bluetooth for phone" but over in th list it has" hi performance audio system with 7 pioneer speakers and Bluetooth for phone"......
No button on the mirror means no OnStar module so pretty much out of luck there. As far as the Bluetooth, best option would be a new radio head unit. Get the adapters that retain the chimes and steering wheel controls.
That is where BlueTooth lives. It would be easier to get an after market radio that includes what you want. I suggest you go to crutchfield.com, they give free advice and you do not have to buy from them.
