lots of people use Birch for boxes, its stronger and 10x easier to work with than MDF

 

its going to be a black painted port, and the rest will be dark gray suede like my headliner, and on the front above the port will be the HHR logo in light gray suede, like the chevy logo insert on my headliner.

 

not happy with the outcome of the box... i still plan to test it to see how it sounds, but im rebuilding

sorry, been working on this slowly, and i havent updated here due to i cant post the pics with IMG tags (copy and paste from my other forum) since im too lazy to resize all these pics lol, so ill just post direct links.

 

heres what i've done on the new box, nothing special yet. been working on the front doors and getting all the wire ran. almost done with that though, so ill move back to the box in a few days.
