sold my double din, i loved it, but i needed more tuning capabilities. installed my old pioneer deh-p880prs. best head unit on the earth IMO.

had a friend make me these MDF rings for the door panels. the ones for this build are just the middle ones, the 8" and 10" rings. the 12" rings and all those 6.5" rings are for my mini cooper build.

I have the same unit in my HHR. Soon to start 'glassing my doors up!!! Your build is inspiring me more and more. Makes me wanna get my ass off the couch, grab the beer, and go to the garage.

i will NEVER sell my 880!!!!!!! lol

im buying another one here soon without a faceplace from a friend, as a backup most likely, or maybe ill throw it in another one of my cars when i find a faceplate for it.

no lie though, the sound quality got sooooooo much better when i swapped to my 880 instead of the double din. the crossover and eq features are great on this unit.

get to work! if you were near me, id love to help you out

Nothing beats the 880. I like the independant left and right EQ, as well as the time alignment features. I'll never change out my 880. I'm changing amps again though. These US Amps Xt's suck. I need cleaner power. I'm still searching though.

I hear ya on getting to work... Eventually, I'll be doing work on the doors, just gotta get 3 of my customers vehicles done. Then I'll have about 5 hours each day to get work done.

nice. im going to try and get my rear doors fiberglassed over the holiday here since i have a few days off. then i can get the speakers in and wired up, and take out my front speakers and start the front doors (at least ill have some music from the rear doors, vs. nothing)

and i hear ya about clean power...i had an audiopipe AP3002 (the AP line is popular here in florida, and not too bad, especially the AP30001d) but i can turn the HU up alot higher now before distortion occurs after switching to a crescendo 1000c4 amp on my mids/highs, vs the AP. so much cleaner power. lol

not yet, ive been wanting to glass the rear door panels, but its been pretty cold lately, and i've been told when its that cold, the resin will have a hard time (or take forever) hardening. i did pull the headliner and install second skin damplifier pro though (about 11 sheets) mostly in the center of the roof where it was the weakest.

i actually just bought 4 of these (just becuase they were 20 bucks each shipped) so i got 4 for a temp setup. gonna use the same box, just make a new top baffle for 4 10s instead of 2. (this is just until i finish my doors and start the wall)

i figure they wont be a waste when im done with them, ill just use those 10s for a HT setup in my house :)

just noticed they're not available anymore, good thing i got mine ordered friday!!
