Light in radio doesn't work is it a simple fix or do I need new radio??

This does not seem to have anything to do with SS specifically?

First, you didn't accidentally dim the dash lights?

It is a simple fix, but unless you are capable your self of pulling the radio, and disassembling it, it is expensive to get someone else to do it for you.
