add stock subwoofer

I searched but didn't see an answer to my question. We have a 2009 HHR 2.2L LS with the non-premium sound system (XM, aux input, no MP3, single CD). I'd like to add the factory subwoofer assembly (sub, amp, housing, etc.). Is the wiring already in place for this to make it a simple mount and plug in?

NO ! The factory sub is not worth it anyway ..

I love my factory sub...I've had subs and even full on custom setups in EVERY vehicle I've ever owned and I'm very pleased with the amount of bass the factory sub puts out. Could it be louder and cleaner...sure, but for me at least it's fine. Now on the other hand, if I were going to add something I sure wouldn't spend the money on a facory setup...you'd be better off to spend your money on better quality equipment.

Mine sounds way better after the new head unit.

Very interesting. I disconnected my sub and just played the 4 doors and was able to get more bass out of the stock system then with the sub running.

Must've had a blown sub because mine bumps very nicely! I had a 10" bazooka tube in a POS tbird a few years ago and the Pioneer factory 8" bumps as hard as that tube.

what is required to do this set up? would the stock wiring hook up to an aftermarket headunit or will it have to change?

Nope just the sub sucks. There is not much bass out of it.

im also trying to find a factory sub box to make it easier and less expensive then mocking up a custom one and i like how its hidden off to the side...but what kind of sub is it? can we swap it out for any other 8inch? is it a shallow sub?
