The best AMP Location

The best location for a stereo power amp in my new HHR?

Any recomendations would be appreciated and photos would be hot.

I just had my system installed and they put one under each front seat.....I have not taken pictures yet as it has been raining and I've been lazy..... :)

there are pics in some of the older threads if you search, some have mounted them under the shelf, above the spare.

Arent there rear passenger heater ducts under the front seats?

if you run a small footprint amp like an Alpine PDX series. you can mount it against the sheetmetal next to the battery

I mounted my amps on the back of the seats. Gets good cooling, out of the way, and with the seats down only stick up a couple of inches. I could easily make a wooden cover to protect them if I carried anything that could damage the amps.

Mine are under the shelf over the spare, been there about 6 months, heat isn't an issue as I thought it might. Good location and stealthy... can be easily shown off if you want.

No not at all, I only crank it when I'm by myself and I've been on trips that are 1hr each way...

I could 'smell' them when they heated up when they were right out of the box but nothing once that 'new electronics smell' wore off.

On family trips I have the 4ch one on only, and that will be playing at 'comfortable' levels for 4hrs with the back loaded up fully with baggage so next to no airflow at all.
