Big 3, 1/0awg wiring, second battery - for saz1500d v1 amp

Ok so basically I have all stock electrical

I just bought a sundown saz1500d v1 amp and I'm not getting very good results with the sub (american bass VFL extreme 15")

both sub and amp do 1500w rms @ 1 ohm

I have 4awg 4' from the battery. amp is in the storage above the battery

Wondering if I can just get away with bigger wire (or perhaps even just doubling or tripling the 4awg runs?) or would I NEED to do the big 3 and get a second battery?

A few notes:

1. Box is 4 cubes. I have been told it needs to be 3 cubes.

2. The bigger box means it can handle more power, but if you don't have enough power, it's going to be bad.

3. I smell a toxic sort of rubbery smell at higher volumes, but hear no audible clipping or distorting. Sub DOES play loud and low however.

Oddly enough, I still have room to sleep in the car and I'm 6'1 :p

When you start to smell that smell, take a feel on you power wires. see if they are warm. If so then you are smelling the insulation of the wires. NOT GOOD. The other thing the smell could be is the voicecoil getting warm. Some subs smell a little when they are new (IDMAX is one of them) as the glue on the voicecoil is heat cycling.
I am not sure who told you #2 but that is not right. Smaller boxes typically can handle more power due to the fact that the box has more control over the cone.
Out of curiosity what is the turn freq. of that box? Demensions? port length?

I will be doing a similar installl soon and I will be upgrading the wire that runs from the battery to that alternerator with 1/0 for sure. and also upgrading all grounds to 1/0 and run multiple batteries.

just food for thought

Well #2 was just a guess. I don't remember exactly what was said. I just remember something about box rise and wattage being fed to the sub.

Frequency of the box is 34hz. 40x16x17

not sure on the port length.

Today I got legit 1/0 wire for the amp.

Going to do the big 3 soon.

I just hate to have to spend that much for the wire since the battery is all the way in the back.

Also wondering if it's ok to use those 1/0 to 8awg adapters at the end if there is no room for a 1/0 wire.

And what's a cheap distribution block for 1/0 wire? Are ebay ones any good?

Try Knukoncepz.com Good stuff cheap.

What has 8awg on it?

1/0 from battery to alt. is just piece of mind. It might not make any difference but with that much current to an amp it is not going to hurt at all except in the wallet a little.

I would not adapt it. I would look into another battery terminal before adapting
