Color of wires for pin numbers.

I have found a few diagrams for the two connectors that attach to the stock radio in the HHR on this forum. I have a 2009 LT 2.2L with none Pioneer audio system. What I am looking for is a pin out that tells me what color wire is attached to which pin in these connectors.

I am installing an ASWC-1 and the wire connections in the instructions say:

1) Connect the Black wire of the ASWC-1 to Chassis ground. (I'm good with this)

2) Connect the Red wire of the ASWC-1 to a 12-volt Accessory wire, one that turns on and off with the ignition key. (I am not good with this, not sure where this 12-volt accessory wire exists)

3) Connect the Yellow/Green wire of the ASWC-1 to Pin 11 of the vehicle. Below is a picture of what the connector in the vehicle looks like:

(It doesn't show what color the wire is, so I can't look in my Haynes manual to see what exactly I am connecting this Yellow/Green wire to. I am not good with this. Am I supposed to solder it to the existing wire in pin 11?)

4) Connect White/Green wire of the ASWC-1 to Chassis ground. You may use the same chassis ground as the black wire. (I am good with that)

5) Connect pin 14 of the vehicle harness shown BELOW to a 12-volt accessory wire.

( I am not good with that. What does pin 14 go to? Where is the elusive 12-volt switched wire? And again, am I supposed to solder it to the existing wire in pin 14?

So if someone has a pin out showing wire colors to pin number I sure would appreciate a copy of that.

I thought these modules were supposed to be designed to forgo the need for soldering and splicing.

Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving to all who observe this Holiday.

Has no one else installed the ASWC-1 interface in their 2009 HHR?

Just trying to get my ducks in a row before I start pulling things out.

Thanks.

Read your other thread for answers to the switched wire question.

Those directions sound clear to me. It would help to have everything in your hand while reading them.

Try this temporary link to a pdf file. I'll leave it up for a while.

Thank you very much.:chevyhhrnetrocks: Exactly what I needed.

FWIW, in stock American cars one color wire is almost always the same wire throughout the car. i.e.: a brown wire near the steering wheel will go to the same terminal point as a brown wire in the door. That is why DVOMs are so cheap (Harbor Freight <$10), to make sure it is.

(This is a response to a post deleted by the OP. The burden of a mod is that they can read deleted posts. that's sad not mad)

donbrew,

On the pdf you posted there seems to be some kind of number or alphanumeric label on the gray wire coming out of pin #2 on the 14 pin connector (X1), can you read what it is on your end?

A lot of my problems are stemming from the fact that I do not have a wire attached to #2 in the 14 pin connector(X1). I am trying to find out where this wire either originates or occurs again.

Thanks

At the end of the arrowhead it says interior light system.
The other end says supply voltage.
The grey wire on 14 says 10volt reference going to the steering wheel control.
