Double Din Cd Player
 

I was on crutchfield for some reason looking at the kenwood double din dpx-301 cd player I want and it said it wont fit my car. Is that true?

the thing is with a double din is how are you going to mount it. the dash kit from schosche is held in by 4 screws just like the stock radio. you would have do make a mount bracket for the radio so it is secure. it can be done, but i think a single din might be a lot easier to install. if you like the kenwoods try this one....http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=14786 it will has everything that has minus hd. that is one bad ass headunit, if you want some other opinions on some hu's or want some other choices i can point you down that road. the 889, the one i have linked here is a very good starting point for a stereo, i built some very large and clean stereo systems off of it.

That's crazy. I'm not saying your not right. But logically (not everything is :( ) if you have a stock double din and buy an aftermarket double din, it should be much easier than getting the adapter for a single din.

Don't you have a local stereo shop that sells Kenwood so you can go see the unit in person and get a better idea? It is way easier to walk into a stereo shop and pick your equipment after seeing it and listening to it rather than trying to pick stuff online from a place like Crutchfield without actually seeing or hearing it. It will probably be cheaper locally also.

Not that has a dpx301. They've got other kenwood double dins, but I've still yet to see mine. And there is no way I'd buy it off crutchfield. They charge way too much. I can get it for about 180 online and I called 2 local shops and both wanted 280 because they'd have to order it because it wasnt a stock item, Even when I told them I could get it for 180 online, they said 280 was their cost....Like I dont know when I'm gettin bs thrown in my face.

Crutchfield is good for research and info only.that's what I use them for. Actually I think I've bought an adapter kit and harness adapter from them. But if you shop around, you can get better prices. But they have good info as far as adapters and fit guides for most vehicles.

A double din will fit if you are good with a dremel, and if it comes with a cage (some double dins come with cages, some don't.

All you have to do is dremel out the dash kit until the cage mounts into the dashkit.

The internal Pioneer MOSFET amps really put out great sound. Also, Pioneer uses very good DAC's (digital-to-analog converters).
