Help with installing an LOC with the stock pioneer system.

I have a 2008 HHR with the pioneer system in it, I’m going to install some subwoofers and I want to keep the factory head unit to avoid having to install a chime box. I can’t figure out if I’m able to just tap into the harness with my speaker outputs on the stock amp, or if I need to use the harness behind my stock radio. I feel like it’s a dumb question but I can’t figure it out.

Why multiple subwoofers? Kind of a waste of time and money.
Does each have its own amp?
The head unit acts as a pre-amp. it has no sub woofer output; the amp does that.
Probably a better idea to replace the amp/subwoofer.

Crutchfield should have a help page for this

What’s the goal? Just window rattling bass? Want a new head unit too? More info about your goals needed.

You may already know this, but conveniently, ALL the speakers are powered by the amp unit packed behind the driver side wheel well panel along with the existing subwoofer.

i plan to disable the stock subwoofer. Stock isn’t enough for me. I know there’s no subwoofer outputs, that’s why I’m asking where I should tap into for an LOC. behind the head unit, or the harness coming off the stock amplifier for speaker outs.

I did kinda scatter info throughout my post, but I want to keep the stock head unit to avoid having to wire in a chime box so I can keep chimes and whatnot. I know that everything is plugged into the amp in the back, I’m just wondering if the speaker outputs that provides are good for an LOC. or if I’d be better off tapping into the harness behind the stock head unit.

I don't know what LOC means.
Why would there be a difference between the plugs and the wires attached to them? I don't get the question.
If your amp has inputs for the pre amp, just plug them in. The amp should have the appropriate crossover for the subwoofer. What do the instructions say about 7 speakers? The tweeters are connected to the front door speakers.

The pink wire in the harness is switched power for the amplifier and antenna.

The outputs on the head unit are "low level audio".

here is a pdf of the wiring diagram:

Yeah you can try the sub wires but it might have some crossover or something. Try behind head unit or even at the kick panel by the doors, the wires should be easy to get there. Or at the bottom of the a-pillar

Make sure it's at least a pdlc21. It has auto turn on and a remote output for your sub amp
